I was inspired to create this dish after craving something bold and flavorful with a touch of heat. These tacos are perfect for a casual weeknight dinner or a gathering with friends. Ingredients:

  • firm tofu, 400g (cubed)
  • sriracha sauce, 50ml
  • lime juice, 30ml
  • smoked paprika, 5g
  • olive oil, 30ml
  • cumin, 5g
  • corn tortillas, 8
  • red cabbage, 150g (shredded)
  • avocado, 1 (sliced)
  • fresh cilantro, for garnish

Kitchen Tools:

  • baking sheet
  • mixing bowl
  • skillet
  • tongs

To start, preheat your oven to 200°C. In a mixing bowl, combine the cubed tofu, sriracha sauce, lime juice, smoked paprika, olive oil, and cumin. Toss everything together until the tofu is well coated in the spicy marinade. Place the marinated tofu on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until crispy.

While the tofu is baking, heat a skillet over medium heat. Warm the corn tortillas in the skillet for about 30 seconds on each side until they are soft and pliable. Keep them warm wrapped in a clean kitchen towel.

Once the tofu is done, assemble your tacos by placing some shredded red cabbage on each tortilla, followed by a generous helping of the spicy sriracha tofu. Top with sliced avocado and fresh cilantro.
