Today’s Recipe: Spicy Maple Glazed Chicken with Sweet Potato Mash

Hey there, foodies! I’m excited to share a special dish with you today that’s perfect for a cozy night in. I was inspired by the chilly fall weather to create a dish that combines the warmth of spices with the sweetness of maple. This Spicy Maple Glazed Chicken with Sweet Potato Mash is a comforting and flavorful meal that will surely satisfy your taste buds.

To make this dish, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 100g maple syrup
  • 30ml hot sauce
  • 2 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 50g butter
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • to taste

Now, let’s gather our kitchen tools:

  • baking sheet
  • mixing bowl
  • pot
  • oven

Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the chicken thighs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. In a mixing bowl, combine the maple syrup, hot sauce, salt, and pepper. Brush this glaze generously over the chicken thighs.

Pop the chicken in the oven and let it bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the skin is crispy and the chicken is cooked through.

While the chicken is baking, bring a pot of water to a boil. Add the cubed sweet potatoes and cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the butter, cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Mash everything together until smooth and creamy.

Once the chicken is done, remove it from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Plate the chicken alongside a generous scoop of the sweet potato mash.

This Spicy Maple Glazed Chicken with Sweet Potato Mash serves 4 people and weighs approximately 1200g in total. Each serving is about 300g with an estimated calorie count of 400.

For a unique twist, try adding a sprinkle of chopped pecans over the sweet potato mash for some added crunch and flavor.

I hope you give this recipe a try and enjoy it as much as I do. Feel free to play around with the ingredients and make it your own. Happy cooking!
