As the chill of winter settles in, I find myself craving comforting and bold flavors to warm me up. That’s why I’m excited to share my latest creation with you — Spicy Honey Glazed Tofu. This dish is a perfect blend of sweet, spicy, and savory that will liven up your taste buds on even the dreariest of days.

For this recipe, you will need the following ingredients:

  • extra-firm tofu, drained and cubed (400g)
  • honey (60ml)
  • soy sauce (30ml)
  • sriracha sauce (15ml)
  • sesame oil (15ml)
  • garlic powder (5g)
  • ground ginger (5g)
  • cornstarch (15g)
  • green onions, chopped (30g)

To bring this dish to life, you will need the following kitchen tools:

  • baking sheet
  • mixing bowl
  • whisk
  • frying pan

Begin by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lining a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a mixing bowl, combine the honey, soy sauce, sriracha sauce, sesame oil, garlic powder, and ground ginger to create the marinade. Toss the cubed tofu in the marinade until well coated, then spread the tofu out on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the tofu is golden and slightly crispy.

While the tofu is baking, heat a frying pan over medium heat. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with a bit of water to create a slurry. Once the pan is hot, add the tofu and any remaining marinade, along with the cornstarch slurry. Stir gently until the sauce thickens and coats the tofu. Remove from heat and sprinkle with chopped green onions.

The total weight of the cooked Spicy Honey Glazed Tofu is approximately 600 grams, with 4 servings. Each serving weighs around 150 grams and contains approximately 250 calories.

One unusual tip to make this dish even more flavorful is to sprinkle some black sesame seeds over the tofu before serving. The nutty flavor of the sesame seeds adds a nice crunch and depth to the dish.
