Today’s Special: Caramelized Apple and Bacon Quiche

Today, I’m excited to share a new recipe I’ve been working on that combines sweet and savory flavors in a delicious quiche. This dish is perfect for a cozy brunch or a light dinner, and the unexpected combination of caramelized apples and crispy bacon is sure to surprise and delight your taste buds.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pre-made pie crust
  • 2 apples, thinly sliced
  • 6 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of pepper

Kitchen Tools:

  • skillet
  • mixing bowl
  • whisk
  • oven

To start, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the pie crust into a pie dish and set it aside. In a skillet, cook the bacon until crispy, then remove and crumble it. In the same skillet, sauté the diced onion until translucent, then add the sliced apples and cook until caramelized.

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. Stir in the cooked bacon, caramelized apples, and shredded cheddar cheese. Pour the egg mixture into the pie crust and smooth the top with a spatula.

Place the quiche in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is golden brown. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.

This caramelized apple and bacon quiche weighs approximately 1000 grams once cooked and serves 6-8 people. Each serving is around 125 grams and has an estimated calorie count of 300. For an extra touch of flavor, sprinkle some fresh thyme leaves on top before serving.
