Today’s Unique Snack: Savory Miso Walnut Granola

As the leaves begin to change color and the air turns crisp, I find myself craving something warm and comforting to snack on. Today, I’m excited to share a recipe for a unique twist on traditional granola that is perfect for autumn – Savory Miso Walnut Granola.

Ingredients:

  • 150g rolled oats
  • 100g walnuts, roughly chopped
  • 50g cashews, chopped
  • 2 tbsp miso paste
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Kitchen Tools:

  • mixing bowl
  • baking sheet
  • spatula

To start, preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, walnuts, cashews, miso paste, maple syrup, olive oil, dried thyme, and salt. Use a spatula to mix everything together until the oats and nuts are evenly coated.

Spread the granola mixture out onto the prepared baking sheet in an even layer. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the granola is golden brown and crisp.

Once the granola is done baking, remove it from the oven and let it cool completely. Break the granola into clusters before transferring it to an airtight container for storage. Enjoy your savory miso walnut granola as a crunchy snack on its own or sprinkle it over salads or soups for a delicious twist!

The approximate total weight of the cooked dish is 300g, with approximately 6 servings. Each serving weighs around 50g, with an estimated calorie count of 200 per serving.
