Today’s Japanese-Inspired Dish: Umami Miso Ramen with Grilled Shrimp

Greetings, lovely readers! Today, I’m excited to share with you my latest creation: Umami Miso Ramen with Grilled Shrimp. This dish is perfect for a cozy night in or a gathering with friends. The rich miso broth combined with the smoky flavor of grilled shrimp creates a delightful umami experience that will leave your taste buds wanting more.

I recommend making this dish on a chilly evening when you’re craving something comforting and delicious. Let’s dive right into this unique and flavorful recipe!

Ingredients:

  • dried ramen noodles (200g)
  • miso paste (60g)
  • dashi stock (1 liter)
  • grilled shrimp (200g)
  • scallions (50g)
  • tofu (150g)
  • black garlic oil (30ml)
  • seaweed (10g)

Kitchen Tools:

  • saucepan
  • grill pan
  • strainer
  • knife

To start, cook the dried ramen noodles according to package instructions and set aside. In a saucepan, heat the dashi stock over medium heat and whisk in the miso paste until fully dissolved. Allow the broth to simmer for about 5 minutes to develop the flavors.

While the broth is simmering, grill the shrimp on a hot grill pan until they are nicely charred on both sides. Slice the scallions and tofu into thin strips. In a separate pot of boiling water, blanch the tofu for a few minutes until heated through.

Once the broth is ready, assemble your ramen bowl by placing the cooked noodles at the bottom. Ladle the hot miso broth over the noodles and top with the grilled shrimp, blanched tofu, sliced scallions, seaweed, and a drizzle of black garlic oil.

Serve your Umami Miso Ramen with Grilled Shrimp piping hot and enjoy the rich flavors of the miso broth complemented by the smoky shrimp and savory toppings.

Approximate total weight of cooked dish: 650g
Number of servings: 2
Average weight of one serving: 325g
Approximate calorie count per serving: 400 calories

One clever tip for this dish is to marinate the shrimp in a mixture of soy sauce, ginger, and garlic before grilling to add an extra layer of flavor.

I hope you give this Umami Miso Ramen with Grilled Shrimp recipe a try soon! Feel free to customize it with your favorite toppings and make it your own. Happy cooking!
