Introducing: Potion of the Enchanted Forest

Hey there, foodies! Today, I’m excited to share a spooky and delicious Halloween recipe with you all. As the leaves begin to change and the air becomes crisp, I’m inspired to create a dish that truly captures the essence of the season. Get ready to make your very own Potion of the Enchanted Forest!

Ingredients:

  • black rice (200g)
  • blood oranges (2)
  • cremini mushrooms (150g)
  • black garlic (3 cloves)
  • dragon fruit (1)
  • thyme (1 bunch)
  • vegetable broth (500ml)

Kitchen Tools:

  • chef’s knife
  • cutting board
  • saucepan
  • wooden spoon

To begin, rinse the black rice thoroughly under cold water. In a saucepan, combine the black rice with the vegetable broth and bring to a simmer. Allow it to cook for about 30 minutes, until the rice is tender and has absorbed all the liquid.

While the rice is cooking, prep your ingredients. Peel and segment the blood oranges, slice the cremini mushrooms, and thinly slice the black garlic. Cut the dragon fruit into small cubes and pick the leaves from the thyme sprigs.

In a separate saucepan, heat a bit of oil over medium heat. Add the sliced cremini mushrooms and black garlic, sautéing until they are golden brown and fragrant. Add in the cooked black rice, blood orange segments, and diced dragon fruit. Stir well to combine and let it simmer for a few minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

Finish off the Potion of the Enchanted Forest by adding in the fresh thyme leaves and stirring them through the dish. Serve hot and enjoy the magical flavors of this unique Halloween recipe!

Approximate total weight of cooked dish: 750g
Number of servings: 4
Average weight of one serving: 187.5g
Approximate calorie count per serving: 250 calories

One tip for an extra special touch: Try adding a sprinkle of edible glitter on top of the dish before serving to truly make it sparkle like a potion from the Enchanted Forest!

I hope you give this recipe a try and make it your own with your favorite seasonal ingredients. Happy cooking!
