Lunar Eclipse Chocolate Cherry Tart

Today, I’m sharing a decadent and unique dessert perfect for a special occasion or to treat yourself. This chocolate cherry tart is inspired by the deep, rich colors of a lunar eclipse, with a combination of flavors that will truly wow your taste buds.

Ingredients:

  • 200g chocolate pastry dough
  • 150g dark chocolate
  • 100ml heavy cream
  • 250g cherries
  • 50g sugar
  • 50g butter

Kitchen Tools:

  • saucepan

Start by preheating your oven to 180°C (350°F). Roll out the chocolate pastry dough and line a tart pan with it, trimming any excess dough. Prick the bottom of the dough with a fork and blind bake for 15 minutes until set.

Meanwhile, pit and halve the cherries, then heat them in a saucepan with sugar until they release their juices and the sugar has dissolved. Let the cherries cool slightly before arranging them on the partially baked chocolate crust.

In another saucepan, heat the heavy cream until just simmering. Remove from heat and add the dark chocolate, stirring until smooth. Pour the chocolate ganache over the cherries and bake the tart for an additional 10-15 minutes until the chocolate is set.

Once the tart has cooled, melt the butter and brush it over the top for a shiny finish. Serve the chocolate cherry tart either warm or at room temperature for a deliciously indulgent treat.

This Lunar Eclipse Chocolate Cherry Tart weighs approximately 800g once cooked, serves 8 people, with an average serving weight of 100g. Each serving is around 350 calories.

One unique tip for this recipe is to sprinkle some crushed pistachios on top of the tart before serving for an extra crunch and a pop of color that complements the chocolate and cherries perfectly.
