Banana Key Lime Pie

I have always loved experimenting with new dessert recipes, especially when I can combine unexpected flavors to create something truly unique. Today, I’m excited to share my latest creation: Banana Key Lime Pie. This dessert is a delicious twist on the classic key lime pie, adding a sweet and creamy banana flavor to the tangy lime filling. It’s the perfect treat for any occasion, whether you’re hosting a dinner party or simply craving something indulgent.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas (approx. 300g)
  • 1/2 cup key lime juice (approx. 120ml)
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (approx. 400g)
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 stick of butter, melted
  • 1 pre-made graham cracker crust

Kitchen Tools

  • mixing bowl
  • whisk
  • baking dish
  • oven

To start, preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth. Add in the key lime juice, sweetened condensed milk, eggs, and melted butter, and whisk everything together until well combined.

Pour the banana key lime mixture into the pre-made graham cracker crust, spreading it out evenly. Place the pie in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Once the pie is done baking, remove it from the oven and let it cool to room temperature. Then, refrigerate the pie for at least 2 hours to allow it to set completely.

Serving

Once chilled, slice the banana key lime pie into wedges and serve. This dessert is best enjoyed cold, with a dollop of whipped cream on top for an extra indulgent treat.

Tips

For an added twist, try adding a sprinkle of toasted coconut on top of the pie before serving. The crunchy texture and tropical flavor will take this dessert to the next level.
