Miso-Glazed Pork Belly Tacos with Pineapple Salsa

Today, I’m excited to share a unique fusion recipe inspired by my love for Asian and Mexican flavors. These miso-glazed pork belly tacos with pineapple salsa are a perfect combination of sweet, savory, and tangy flavors that will surely impress your taste buds.

Ingredients:

  • pork belly (500g)
  • miso paste (50g)
  • soy sauce (30ml)
  • honey (20g)
  • pineapple (200g)
  • red onion (50g)
  • jalapeño (1)
  • lime juice (30ml)
  • cilantro (20g)
  • tortillas

Kitchen Tools:

  • baking sheet
  • mixing bowl
  • grill pan
  • knife
  • cutting board

To start, preheat your oven to 180°C. Place the pork belly on a baking sheet and roast in the oven for about 45 minutes until crispy on the outside. In a mixing bowl, combine miso paste, soy sauce, and honey to create the glaze. Brush the glaze over the pork belly and return it to the oven for another 15 minutes.

While the pork belly is cooking, prepare the pineapple salsa. Dice the pineapple, red onion, jalapeño, and cilantro, then mix them together in a bowl. Add lime juice and mix well to combine.

Once the pork belly is done, remove it from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Heat a grill pan over medium-high heat and sear the pork belly slices until caramelized and slightly charred.

To assemble the tacos, warm the tortillas on the grill pan. Slice the pork belly into thin strips and place them on the tortillas. Top with pineapple salsa and additional cilantro for garnish.

This dish serves 4 people and each serving weighs approximately 200g. Each serving is estimated to be around 400 calories.

One unique tip for this recipe is to marinate the pork belly in the miso glaze overnight for even more flavor infusion.
