Creating a Warming Fall Delight

As the leaves begin to change color and the air becomes crisp, I find myself craving cozy, comforting dishes to enjoy during the fall season. Today, I’m excited to share with you a unique and delicious recipe that combines the flavors of the season in a completely unexpected way.

For this dish, I’ve decided to create a savory pumpkin and bacon stuffed pasta bake. This hearty and satisfying meal is the perfect way to warm up on a chilly autumn evening. The combination of creamy pumpkin, crispy bacon, and gooey cheese is sure to delight your taste buds.

To start, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • pumpkin puree (300g)
  • bacon strips (150g), cooked and crumbled
  • pasta shells (250g), cooked al dente
  • cheddar cheese (200g), shredded
  • heavy cream (150ml)
  • onion (1), diced
  • garlic cloves (2), minced
  • olive oil
  • salt and pepper to taste

You will also need the following kitchen tools:

  • saute pan
  • baking dish
  • mixing bowl
  • oven

Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C) and greasing a baking dish with olive oil. In a saute pan, cook the diced onion and minced garlic in a bit of olive oil until softened. Add the pumpkin puree, cooked bacon, and heavy cream to the pan, stirring until well combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

In a separate mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta shells with half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Pour the pumpkin and bacon mixture over the pasta and stir until everything is evenly coated. Transfer the mixture to the greased baking dish and top with the remaining cheddar cheese.

Bake the pasta dish in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.

This cozy fall dish weighs approximately 1200g once cooked and serves about 6 people. Each serving is around 200g and has an estimated calorie count of 400.

A clever tip for this recipe is to sprinkle some crispy bacon bits on top of the dish just before serving for an extra crunch and burst of flavor.

I hope you give this pumpkin and bacon stuffed pasta bake a try and enjoy it as much as I do. Feel free to get creative and add your own twist to this recipe. Happy cooking!
