Today’s Unique Dessert: Pomegranate Rosemary Ice Cream

As the weather starts to warm up, I find myself craving cool and refreshing treats. That’s why I’m excited to share with you today a completely unique and flavorful dessert: Pomegranate Rosemary Ice Cream. This creamy and tangy ice cream combines the tartness of pomegranate with the earthy hint of rosemary for a truly unforgettable flavor experience.

To make this delightful dessert, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • 150g pomegranate arils
  • 2 sprigs of fresh rosemary
  • 400ml heavy cream
  • 200ml whole milk
  • 150g sugar
  • a pinch of salt

Gather your tools for the recipe:

  • saucepan
  • mixing bowl
  • whisk
  • fine mesh strainer
  • ice cream maker

Begin by heating the heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, salt, and the rosemary sprigs in a saucepan over medium heat. Allow the mixture to simmer gently for about 10 minutes to infuse the flavors of the rosemary into the cream. Remove the saucepan from heat and let it cool slightly before removing the rosemary sprigs.

Next, pour the cream mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a mixing bowl to remove any rosemary pieces. Add the pomegranate arils to the strained cream and gently stir to combine. Cover the bowl and refrigerate the mixture for at least 4 hours or overnight to chill thoroughly.

Once the mixture is well chilled, transfer it to your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency. Transfer the ice cream to a container and freeze for an additional 2-3 hours until firm.

Serve the Pomegranate Rosemary Ice Cream in scoops garnished with a sprig of fresh rosemary for a beautiful presentation. This unique and refreshing dessert is perfect for enjoy on a warm day or as a sweet treat after dinner.

This recipe yields approximately 750g of ice cream, enough for about 6 servings. Each serving is around 125g and has an estimated calorie count of 250 calories.

One tip to make this ice cream even more decadent is to sprinkle some chopped pistachios on top before serving for an added crunch and nutty flavor.

I hope you give this Pomegranate Rosemary Ice Cream a try and get creative with your own toppings and garnishes. Enjoy this unique dessert and savor every bite!
