Lavender-infused Fig and Goat Cheese Delight

Lavender-infused Fig and Goat Cheese Delight

May 4, 2025 Written by Harper

Today, I am excited to share a new recipe that was inspired by a recent trip to a local farmer’s market. As I wandered through the stalls brimming with fresh produce, I couldn’t resist picking up some plump figs and fragrant lavender. These ingredients sparked an idea for a unique dessert that I can’t wait for you to try.

Ingredients:

  • fresh figs (500g)
  • dried lavender buds (10g)
  • honey (100ml)
  • goat cheese (200g)

Preparation:

To begin, preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Slice the fresh figs in half lengthwise and arrange them on a baking sheet. Drizzle the figs with honey, making sure each one gets a drizzle of sweetness. Sprinkle the dried lavender buds on top of the figs, allowing the floral aroma to infuse into the fruit.

Next, place the baking sheet in the oven and bake the figs for about 15 minutes. The figs should become soft and slightly caramelized, intensifying their natural sweetness.

While the figs are baking, crumble the goat cheese into a creamy texture. Once the figs are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly. To serve, place a dollop of goat cheese on each warm fig, allowing the creamy and tangy cheese to melt slightly into the sweet fruit.

Kitchen Tools:

  • baking sheet
  • oven

Tips:

For an extra touch of decadence, you can sprinkle some chopped pistachios or a drizzle of balsamic glaze on top of the figs before serving. These additions will add a delightful crunch and depth of flavor to this already indulgent dessert.

Serving:

This roasted fig and goat cheese dish weighs approximately 920g once cooked. It serves 4 people, with each serving weighing around 230g. A serving of this dessert is estimated to have around 300 calories. Enjoy this delightful dish as a sophisticated end to a dinner party or simply as a treat to indulge in on a cozy evening at home.

I hope you give this recipe a try and relish in the unique flavor combination of sweet figs, floral lavender, and creamy goat cheese. Feel free to experiment with different herbs or fruits to make it your own. Happy cooking!
