Today’s Culinary Creation: Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Cranberry Balsamic Glaze

As the weather starts to cool down and the holiday season approaches, I find myself craving warm, comforting dishes that are both festive and delicious. This dish is the perfect combination of savory and sweet, making it a standout side dish for any meal.

To create this unique dish, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • 500g Brussels sprouts
  • 60ml olive oil
  • 50g dried cranberries
  • 30ml balsamic vinegar
  • 15ml honey

Before you begin, make sure you have the following kitchen tools on hand:

  • baking sheet
  • mixing bowl
  • spatula
  • oven

To start, preheat your oven to 200°C. Trim the ends off the Brussels sprouts and slice them in half. Place them in a mixing bowl and drizzle with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Toss until the Brussels sprouts are well coated, then spread them out on a baking sheet in a single layer. Roast in the oven for 25-30 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside.

While the Brussels sprouts are roasting, prepare the cranberry balsamic glaze. In a small saucepan, combine the dried cranberries, balsamic vinegar, and honey. Simmer over medium heat until the cranberries have softened and the mixture has thickened slightly, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

Once the Brussels sprouts are done roasting, transfer them to a serving dish and drizzle with the cranberry balsamic glaze. Toss gently to coat the Brussels sprouts evenly, then serve hot.

The total weight of the cooked dish is approximately 700g, with 4 servings. Each serving weighs around 175g, with an estimated calorie count of 150 per serving.

One unique tip for this recipe is to sprinkle some crumbled feta cheese over the top before serving. The tanginess of the cheese pairs perfectly with the sweetness of the cranberry balsamic glaze, adding an extra layer of flavor to the dish.

I hope you enjoy making and sharing this delicious Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Cranberry Balsamic Glaze recipe! Feel free to get creative and make it your own by adding your favorite nuts or seeds for extra crunch. Happy cooking!
