The surprise ingredient of avocado adds a luxurious texture and a healthy twist to this classic dessert.

Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe avocados (about 400g)
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder (50g)
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup (120ml)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup coconut milk (60ml)
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt
  • For garnish: chopped nuts and berries

Kitchen Tools:

  • ramekins

To begin, scoop out the flesh of two ripe avocados and add them to a food processor. Next, add in the cocoa powder, maple syrup, vanilla extract, coconut milk, and sea salt. Blend all the ingredients together until you have a smooth and creamy mousse-like consistency.

Once the mixture is well combined, transfer it to individual ramekins or serving glasses. Place the mousse in the refrigerator to chill for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together and the mousse to set.

When you’re ready to serve, garnish the Chocolate Avocado Mousse with chopped nuts and berries for a pop of color and texture. This dessert is best enjoyed chilled, straight from the fridge.
