Hi there, fellow food lovers!

Today, I am thrilled to share with you a unique dish that has quickly become a favorite in my household. As the weather starts to cool down and fall is right around the corner, I find myself craving warm, comforting meals that bring a sense of coziness and nostalgia. This dish perfectly embodies those qualities and is sure to delight your taste buds.

For this recipe, we will be creating a mouthwatering Sweet Potato and Sage Lasagna. Yes, you read that right – a lasagna with a sweet potato twist! The combination of creamy sweet potatoes, earthy sage, and gooey cheese will have you coming back for seconds.

  • chef’s knife
  • cutting board
  • baking dish
  • skillet

To start, you will need the following ingredients:
– 500g sweet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
– 200g fresh lasagna sheets
– 1 onion, finely chopped
– 2 cloves of garlic, minced
– 200g ricotta cheese
– 150g mozzarella cheese, shredded
– 1/4 cup fresh sage leaves
– 1 cup of milk
– Salt and pepper to taste

Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a skillet, sauté the chopped onion and garlic until they are soft and fragrant. Add in the milk, fresh sage leaves, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Let the mixture simmer for a few minutes to infuse the milk with the sage flavor.

Next, in a baking dish, layer the sliced sweet potatoes, lasagna sheets, ricotta cheese, and the milk mixture. Repeat the layers until you have used up all the ingredients, making sure to finish with a layer of mozzarella cheese on top.

Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is golden and bubbly.

Once the lasagna is done, allow it to cool for a few minutes before slicing into it. The creamy sweet potatoes, herby sage, and melty cheese will create a symphony of flavors in every bite.

The total weight of the cooked dish is approximately 1500g. This recipe serves 6 people, with each serving weighing around 250g. Each serving is estimated to have around 350 calories.

One clever tip for this dish is to add a sprinkle of nutmeg to the milk mixture for a warm and aromatic flavor that will take this lasagna to the next level.

I hope you give this Sweet Potato and Sage Lasagna a try and enjoy it as much as I do. Feel free to experiment with different herbs, cheeses, or even adding in some veggies for a personalized twist. Happy cooking!
