As the weather cools down and the leaves start to change, I find myself craving warm and cozy comfort foods. One dish that always hits the spot is a homemade pizza with a unique twist. Today, I’m excited to share my recipe for Smoky Maple Bacon Pizza, a delicious combination of sweet and savory flavors that will surely become a new fall favorite.

To start, gather the following ingredients:

  • pizza dough (400g)
  • bacon (150g)
  • smoked gouda cheese (200g)
  • red onion (1, thinly sliced)
  • maple syrup (2 tbsp)
  • olive oil
  • salt and pepper

Next, gather your kitchen tools:

  • rolling pin
  • baking sheet
  • chef’s knife
  • grater

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface to your desired thickness and shape and transfer it to a baking sheet.

In a skillet, cook the bacon until crispy, then remove and chop it into small pieces. In the same skillet, caramelize the red onions with a drizzle of olive oil until soft and slightly browned.
