For this delicious creation, I decided to combine the rich flavors of dark chocolate with the zesty kick of fresh basil. Yes, you read that right – chocolate and basil! This unlikely duo creates a symphony of flavors that will leave you wanting more with each bite. Let’s dive into the details of this innovative dessert.

Ingredients:

  • 200g dark chocolate
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 150ml heavy cream
  • 50g sugar
  • 50g butter

Kitchen Tools:

  • saucepan
  • whisk
  • fine mesh strainer
  • mixing bowls

To begin, heat the heavy cream in a saucepan over low heat until it simmers. In a separate bowl, roughly chop the dark chocolate and set it aside. Once the cream is simmering, add the fresh basil leaves and let them steep for 5 minutes to infuse the cream with their aromatic flavor.

After steeping, strain the cream to remove the basil leaves, then return it to the saucepan. Add sugar and butter to the saucepan and stir until the sugar has dissolved and the butter has melted. Remove the saucepan from heat and pour the hot mixture over the chopped dark chocolate. Let it sit for a minute before whisking everything together until smooth and glossy.
