Autumn Recipe: Fig and Prosciutto Polenta

Today, I’m excited to share a cozy and comforting recipe perfect for autumn evenings. The combination of sweet figs, salty prosciutto, and creamy polenta creates a delicious dish that will warm your soul and tantalize your taste buds.

For this unique recipe, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • 200g polenta
  • 250g fresh figs
  • 100g sliced prosciutto
  • 50g grated parmesan
  • 50g butter
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

To prepare this dish, you’ll need the following kitchen tools:

  • saucepan
  • wooden spoon
  • baking sheet
  • knife

Start by preparing the polenta according to the package instructions, then stir in the grated parmesan and butter for extra creaminess. Spread the polenta onto a baking sheet and let it cool and set.

While the polenta is setting, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the fresh figs in half and arrange them on a baking sheet. Drizzle with honey and balsamic vinegar, then season with salt and pepper. Roast in the oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the figs are caramelized and slightly crispy.

Once the figs are roasted, remove them from the oven and set aside. Crisp up the prosciutto in a pan over medium heat until it’s crispy and slightly browned.

To assemble the dish, cut the polenta into squares and top each square with a piece of crispy prosciutto and a roasted fig half. Drizzle with any remaining honey and balsamic vinegar from the baking sheet for extra flavor.

Serve your fig and prosciutto polenta warm, and enjoy the unique combination of flavors and textures in each bite.

This dish weighs approximately 700g in total and serves four people. Each serving is around 175g, with an estimated calorie count of 350 per serving.

One tip to make this dish even more delicious is to sprinkle some fresh thyme leaves over the top before serving. The herbaceous aroma will add a delightful touch to the dish.

I hope you give this fig and prosciutto polenta recipe a try and make it your own with any personal twists you’d like to add. Enjoy experimenting in the kitchen and savoring the autumn flavors!
