Fall Comfort Food Recipe: Maple Glazed Sweet Potato Casserole

Today, I’m excited to share with you my twist on a classic fall comfort food dish. With the changing leaves and cooler weather, there’s nothing quite like a warm and satisfying casserole to enjoy with loved ones. This Maple Glazed Sweet Potato Casserole is sure to be a hit at your next gathering, with its unique blend of flavors and textures that will leave everyone wanting more.

Ingredients:

  • 4 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Kitchen Tools:

  • baking dish
  • mixing bowl
  • oven
  • mixer

To start, preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a baking dish. In a large mixing bowl, combine the diced sweet potatoes, maple syrup, melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Mix everything together until the sweet potatoes are coated evenly with the mixture.

Transfer the sweet potato mixture to the greased baking dish, spreading it out into an even layer. Sprinkle the chopped pecans on top of the sweet potatoes, pressing them gently into the mixture. Cover the dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.

Remove the foil from the baking dish and continue baking for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the sweet potatoes are tender and the pecans are golden brown. Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.

This Maple Glazed Sweet Potato Casserole weighs approximately 1200 grams and serves 6 people. Each serving is around 200 grams and has an estimated calorie count of 300 calories.

Clever Tip:

For an extra burst of flavor, try adding a sprinkle of sea salt on top of the casserole right before serving. The salt will enhance the sweetness of the maple glaze and make each bite even more delicious.

I hope you give this Maple Glazed Sweet Potato Casserole a try and make it your own with any additional toppings or spices you love. It’s the perfect dish to warm your soul and bring a taste of fall to your table. Enjoy!
