Culinary Delight: Pistachio-Crusted Salmon with Spicy Mango Salsa

Today, I am excited to share a vibrant and flavorful dish that combines the richness of salmon with the freshness of mango and a kick of spice. This recipe is perfect for a summer dinner party or a cozy night in. The pistachio crust adds a delightful crunch to the tender salmon, while the spicy mango salsa brings a burst of tropical flavors. Let’s get cooking!

Ingredients:

  • salmon fillets (150g each)
  • pistachios (100g)
  • mango (1, diced)
  • red onion (1/2, finely chopped)
  • jalapeño (1, seeded and minced)
  • lime (1, juiced)
  • cilantro (2 tbsp, chopped)
  • olive oil (2 tbsp)
  • salt and pepper to taste

Kitchen Tools:

  • food processor
  • baking sheet
  • mixing bowl
  • chef’s knife
  • cutting board

Start by preheating your oven to 180°C. In a food processor, pulse the pistachios until they are finely chopped but still have some texture. Place the pistachios in a shallow dish. Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper, then press them into the chopped pistachios, coating both sides.

Place the pistachio-crusted salmon fillets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and the crust is golden brown and crispy.

While the salmon is baking, prepare the spicy mango salsa. In a mixing bowl, combine the diced mango, chopped red onion, minced jalapeño, chopped cilantro, lime juice, and olive oil. Season with salt and pepper, and toss everything together until well combined.

Once the salmon is ready, serve it hot with a generous spoonful of the spicy mango salsa on top. The combination of the nutty pistachio crust and the zesty salsa is a true taste sensation that will impress your taste buds!

This dish weighs approximately 400 grams in total and serves 2. Each serving is around 200 grams, with an estimated calorie count of 350 calories.

Pro tip: For an extra flavor boost, try marinating the salmon fillets in a mixture of lime juice, olive oil, and garlic for 30 minutes before applying the pistachio crust.

I hope you enjoy making this Pistachio-Crusted Salmon with Spicy Mango Salsa as much as I do. Feel free to customize the recipe with your favorite nuts or additional spices to make it your own. Bon appétit!
