Indulge in Decadence with Lavender Lemon Tart

Today, I’m excited to share a recipe that combines two of my favorite flavors – lavender and lemon. This decadent dessert is perfect for a special occasion or simply to treat yourself to something unique and indulgent.

To create this Lavender Lemon Tart, you will need the following ingredients:

  • all-purpose flour
  • unsalted butter
  • powdered sugar
  • eggs
  • dried lavender buds
  • lemons
  • heavy cream
  • granulated sugar

Before you begin, make sure to gather the following kitchen tools:

  • mixing bowl
  • tart pan
  • rolling pin
  • citrus zester

To start, preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, softened butter, powdered sugar, and one egg. Mix until a dough forms, then press it into the tart pan to create a crust. Bake the crust for 15 minutes, then let it cool.

Meanwhile, in a saucepan, heat the heavy cream with the dried lavender buds until it almost boils. Remove from heat and let it steep for 10 minutes. Strain out the lavender buds and let the cream cool.

In another bowl, whisk together the remaining eggs, granulated sugar, and the zest and juice of two lemons. Gradually pour in the lavender-infused cream and mix well. Pour this filling into the cooled tart crust.

Bake the tart for 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set. Let it cool completely before serving. This Lavender Lemon Tart pairs beautifully with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

This delightful dessert weighs approximately 800g once cooked and serves about 8 people. Each serving is around 100g, with an estimated calorie count of 300 per portion.

A unique tip for this recipe is to sprinkle a little extra dried lavender on top of the tart before serving for an added burst of flavor and a lovely visual touch.
