Introducing: Savory Pear and Goat Cheese Galette

Today, I’m excited to share with you one of my favorite recipes for a savory pear and goat cheese galette. This dish is perfect for those cozy fall evenings when you’re craving something unique and comforting. The combination of sweet pears, tangy goat cheese, and aromatic herbs creates a flavor profile that will surprise and delight your taste buds.

Ingredients:

  • all-purpose flour (200g)
  • cold butter, cubed (100g)
  • cold water (50ml)
  • pears, thinly sliced (2)
  • goat cheese (100g)
  • fresh thyme (1 tbsp)
  • honey (2 tbsp)
  • salt (1/2 tsp)
  • black pepper (1/4 tsp)

Kitchen Tools:

  • rolling pin
  • mixing bowl
  • baking sheet/li>
  • knife
  • pastry brush

Preparation:

Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lining a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and cubed butter. Use your fingers or a pastry cutter to work the butter into the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add the cold water and mix until a dough forms. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

Once the dough has chilled, roll it out on a floured surface into a circle about 12 inches in diameter. Transfer the dough to the prepared baking sheet.

Arrange the sliced pears on top of the dough, leaving a border around the edges. Crumble the goat cheese over the pears and sprinkle with fresh thyme, salt, and black pepper. Drizzle the honey over the top.

Fold the edges of the dough over the filling, creating a rustic galette shape. Brush the edges of the dough with water to help them seal.

Bake the galette in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the pears are tender.

Tips:

For an extra flavor boost, try adding a handful of chopped walnuts or a sprinkle of balsamic glaze before baking.

Serving:

This savory pear and goat cheese galette serves 4 people, with each serving weighing approximately 200g. One serving is around 300 calories.

I hope you give this delicious galette a try and make it your own with your favorite seasonal ingredients. Enjoy!
