Today’s Healthy Snack Recipe: Dill Pickle Hummus

Growing up, I always loved snacking on crunchy dill pickles. They were one of my favorite treats, so today I’m excited to share my unique twist on a classic snack – Dill Pickle Hummus. This recipe combines the tangy flavor of dill pickles with the creamy goodness of hummus for a snack that is sure to surprise and delight your taste buds.

Ingredients:

  • 1 can of chickpeas (400g)
  • 3 large dill pickles (150g)
  • 2 tablespoons of tahini (30g)
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice (30ml)
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil (30ml)
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper

Kitchen Tools:

  • food processor
  • knife
  • cutting board
  • measuring spoons
  • can opener

To start, drain and rinse the chickpeas from the can. Place them in the food processor. Next, chop the dill pickles and garlic cloves into small pieces and add them to the food processor. Add the tahini, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and black pepper to the mix.

Pulse the ingredients in the food processor until smooth and well combined, scraping down the sides as needed. If the hummus is too thick, you can add a bit of water to reach your desired consistency.

Once the Dill Pickle Hummus is smooth and creamy, transfer it to a serving bowl. You can drizzle some extra olive oil on top and sprinkle with more black pepper for garnish.

This Dill Pickle Hummus recipe makes approximately 500g of hummus, with about 8 servings of 62g each. Each serving is around 120 calories.

One unique tip for this recipe is to let the hummus sit in the refrigerator for a few hours before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld together even more, giving you an even tastier snack.
