Today’s Creation: Mango Avocado Sushi Salad

As the temperatures rise and summer is in full swing, I find myself craving light and refreshing meals that are bursting with flavor. Today, I’m excited to share with you my latest creation: a unique twist on traditional sushi in the form of a Mango Avocado Sushi Salad. This dish combines the fresh flavors of ripe mango and creamy avocado with the umami richness of seaweed and sushi rice, creating a delightful fusion of East and West.

To create this dish, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 200g sushi rice
  • 1 ripe mango, diced
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 100g seaweed salad
  • 50ml rice vinegar
  • 30ml soy sauce
  • 15g sesame seeds
  • 50g pickled ginger

To bring this dish to life, you will need the following kitchen tools:

  • rice cooker
  • mixing bowl
  • sushi mat
  • sharp knife

Start by cooking the sushi rice according to the package instructions. Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a mixing bowl and gently fold in the rice vinegar to season. Allow the rice to cool slightly before assembling the salad.

In a separate mixing bowl, combine the diced mango, sliced avocado, and seaweed salad. Drizzle the soy sauce over the mixture and gently toss to combine.

Using a sushi mat, spread a layer of sushi rice on the bottom, followed by a layer of the mango, avocado, and seaweed mixture. Roll the sushi mat tightly to form a sushi roll, then slice it into bite-sized pieces.

Once all the sushi rolls are sliced, place them on a serving plate and sprinkle with sesame seeds and pickled ginger. Serve immediately and enjoy the vibrant flavors of this Mango Avocado Sushi Salad.

This Mango Avocado Sushi Salad weighs approximately 800g in total and serves 4 people. Each serving is about 200g and contains roughly 300 calories.

One clever tip for this dish is to chill the sushi rice slightly before assembling the salad. This will help the rice stick together better and make it easier to roll into sushi rolls.

I hope you give this Mango Avocado Sushi Salad a try and make it your own by adding your favorite ingredients or experimenting with different flavor combinations. Enjoy!
