Exploring New Flavors: Today’s Unique Dessert Recipe

Hello, fellow foodies! Today, I am excited to share with you a completely new dessert recipe that I recently created. I was feeling adventurous in the kitchen and wanted to experiment with some unusual flavor combinations. The result was a delightful treat that I couldn’t wait to share with all of you.

Ingredients:

  • 300g purple sweet potatoes (peeled and diced)
  • 200ml coconut milk
  • 2 pandan leaves
  • 1 tbsp matcha powder
  • 50g coconut sugar
  • 2 tbsp black sesame seeds

Kitchen Tools:

  • chef’s knife
  • saucepan
  • blender
  • fine mesh strainer

To start, I peeled and diced 300g of purple sweet potatoes and boiled them until they were soft. In a saucepan, I heated 200ml of coconut milk with 2 pandan leaves until fragrant. I then removed the pandan leaves and blended the sweet potatoes with the coconut milk until smooth.

Next, I added 1 tbsp of matcha powder and 50g of coconut sugar to the mixture and blended it again until well combined. I strained the mixture through a fine mesh strainer to remove any lumps.

I transferred the mixture to a serving dish and sprinkled 2 tbsp of black sesame seeds on top for a lovely crunch and nutty flavor. I popped it in the fridge to chill for at least an hour before serving.

Once chilled, the dessert had a beautiful green color from the matcha and a subtle sweetness from the coconut sugar. The creamy texture of the sweet potato and coconut milk was perfectly complemented by the crunch of the black sesame seeds.

This unique dessert weighs approximately 600g and serves 4. Each serving is around 150g and has an estimated calorie count of 200.

One clever tip for this recipe is to sprinkle a little extra matcha powder on top of each serving just before serving to enhance the green color and add a pop of flavor.

I hope you enjoy this one-of-a-kind dessert as much as I did creating it. Feel free to get creative with your own additions or substitutions to make it your own. Happy cooking!
