As the summer heat continues to rise, I find myself craving something cool and fruity to satisfy my sweet tooth. That’s why I’ve decided to create a delightful Plum and Basil Sorbet that is not only delicious but also healthy!

To make this mouthwatering sorbet, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • 5 fresh plums (pitted and chopped)
  • 10 fresh basil leaves
  • 200ml coconut milk
  • 50ml honey
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Gather the following kitchen tools before you begin:

  • blender
  • saucepan
  • fine mesh strainer
  • mixing bowl
  • ice cream maker

Start by placing the chopped plums, basil leaves, coconut milk, and honey in a saucepan over medium heat. Let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together. Stir in the lemon juice and continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes.

Once the mixture has cooled slightly, transfer it to a blender and blend until smooth. Pour the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a mixing bowl to remove any pulp or seeds. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.

After the mixture has chilled, pour it into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Once the sorbet reaches a soft-serve consistency, transfer it to a container and freeze for an additional 2 hours until firm.

The total weight of the Plum and Basil Sorbet is approximately 800 grams. This recipe makes about 6 servings, with each serving weighing roughly 133 grams. Each serving contains approximately 150 calories.

One clever tip for making this sorbet even more refreshing is to add a splash of sparkling water to each serving before serving. It adds a fun and fizzy twist to the dessert!
