Introducing: Savory Pumpkin and Gorgonzola Bread Pudding

Hey there, fellow foodies! Today, I’m excited to share with you my latest culinary creation: a deliciously unique savory pumpkin and Gorgonzola bread pudding. As the fall season approaches, I find myself craving warm and comforting dishes that incorporate seasonal produce in unexpected ways. This recipe combines the earthy sweetness of pumpkin with the bold tanginess of Gorgonzola cheese for a tantalizing flavor experience that will surely impress your taste buds.

Ingredients:

  • 300g pumpkin puree
  • 150g Gorgonzola cheese, crumbled
  • 400g French bread, cubed
  • 3 eggs
  • 400ml milk
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Kitchen Tools:

  • mixing bowl
  • whisk
  • baking dish
  • knife
  • cutting board

To start, preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and black pepper until well combined. Add in the pumpkin puree and mix until smooth. Gently fold in the cubed French bread, ensuring that all the bread is coated in the pumpkin mixture. Let it sit for about 15 minutes to allow the bread to soak up the flavors.

Next, carefully fold in the crumbled Gorgonzola cheese and fresh thyme, making sure it’s evenly distributed throughout the mixture. Transfer the bread pudding mixture into a greased baking dish and spread it out evenly.

Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the pudding is set. Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving. The aroma of pumpkin, thyme, and melted Gorgonzola will fill your kitchen, tempting you to dig in.

This savory pumpkin and Gorgonzola bread pudding weighs approximately 1200g, with 6 servings at around 200g each. A single serving is about 350 calories.

One clever tip for this dish is to sprinkle some extra Gorgonzola cheese on top of the bread pudding about halfway through baking. This will create a nice cheesy crust that adds an extra layer of flavor and texture to the dish.

I encourage you to give this savory pumpkin and Gorgonzola bread pudding a try. Feel free to experiment with different cheeses or herbs to make it your own. Happy cooking!
