Today’s Unique Dessert Recipe: Raspberry Basil Panna Cotta

Hello there, foodies! Today, I am excited to share with you a delightful and unexpectedly delicious dessert recipe that combines the sweetness of raspberries with the refreshing twist of basil. This Raspberry Basil Panna Cotta is perfect for a summer treat that will impress your friends and family at any gathering.

Ingredients:

  • 200g fresh raspberries
  • 10g fresh basil leaves
  • 300ml heavy cream
  • 10g gelatin powder
  • 100g sugar

Kitchen Tools:

  • saucepan
  • blender
  • strainer
  • ramekins

To start, combine the heavy cream, sugar, and basil leaves in a saucepan over low heat. Let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes to infuse the cream with the basil flavor. In the meantime, bloom the gelatin powder in cold water according to the package instructions.

Once the cream mixture is infused, remove it from the heat and strain out the basil leaves. Add the bloomed gelatin to the warm cream and stir until completely dissolved. Allow the mixture to cool slightly.

Next, puree the fresh raspberries in a blender until smooth. Pass the puree through a fine-mesh strainer to remove the seeds, leaving you with a smooth raspberry coulis.

Using ramekins as molds, pour a layer of the cooled basil-infused cream mixture into each ramekin. Place the ramekins in the refrigerator to set for about 30 minutes. Once the cream has slightly set, gently pour the raspberry coulis over the top of each ramekin to create a beautiful layered effect.

Return the ramekins to the refrigerator and let the panna cotta set completely for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.

When ready to serve, gently run a knife around the edge of each ramekin and invert the panna cotta onto a plate. The layers of creamy basil-infused goodness and bright raspberry coulis will surely wow your guests!

The approximate total weight of the cooked dish is 450g, making 4 servings with an average weight of 112.5g per serving. Each serving of this Raspberry Basil Panna Cotta is approximately 250 calories.

One clever tip for this recipe is to garnish each serving with a fresh basil leaf or a few whole raspberries to add an extra pop of color and flavor. Enjoy!
