Exotic Spice Market Lamb Quinoa

Today, I am excited to share with you a unique and flavorful dish that I recently created. This dish was inspired by a recent trip to a spice market, where I was overwhelmed by the array of exotic spices and herbs. I wanted to create a dish that would capture the essence of those flavors and bring a taste of the market into my own kitchen.

Ingredients:

  • lamb meat
  • quinoa
  • small eggplant
  • sumac
  • smoked paprika
  • cinnamon
  • coriander
  • cumin
  • turmeric
  • cardamom
  • cloves
  • salt and pepper
  • fresh mint leaves

Kitchen Tools:

  • chef’s knife
  • cutting board
  • baking dish
  • large skillet

Preparation:

To begin, preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the eggplant into thin rounds and place them in a single layer in a baking dish. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt, pepper, and the sumac. Roast in the oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the eggplant is tender.

While the eggplant is roasting, cook the quinoa according to package instructions. In a large skillet, brown the lamb meat over medium heat. Add the smoked paprika, cinnamon, coriander, cumin, turmeric, cardamom, and cloves. Cook until the meat is cooked through and the spices are fragrant.

Assembly:

Once the eggplant and quinoa are cooked, layer them in a serving dish. Top with the spiced lamb meat and garnish with fresh mint leaves.

Serving:

This dish serves 4 people, with each serving weighing approximately 250g. Each serving contains approximately 350 calories.

Tips:

For an extra burst of flavor, try adding a squeeze of lemon juice over the dish before serving. The acidity of the lemon will help to brighten up the spices and bring all the flavors together.
