Today’s Unique Creation: Spiced Mango Rose Tart

Hello, foodies! Today I am excited to share with you a delightful and unique dessert that combines the tropical sweetness of mango with fragrant spices and a stunning rose design. This Spiced Mango Rose Tart is perfect for impressing guests at a dinner party or treating yourself to something special. Let’s get started!

Ingredients:

  • shortcrust pastry (200g)
  • fresh mango (2, diced)
  • ground cinnamon (1 tsp)
  • ground cardamom (1/2 tsp)
  • cornstarch (15g)
  • sugar (50g)
  • lemon juice (1 tbsp)
  • rose petals (for garnish)

Kitchen Tools:

  • rolling pin
  • 9-inch tart pan
  • mixing bowls
  • knife

Start by preheating your oven to 180°C (350°F). Roll out the shortcrust pastry on a floured surface and line a 9-inch tart pan with it. Trim any excess pastry and prick the base with a fork. Blind bake the pastry crust for 15 minutes, then remove from the oven and set aside to cool.

In a mixing bowl, combine the diced mango, ground cinnamon, ground cardamom, cornstarch, sugar, and lemon juice. Mix well until the mango is coated evenly with the spices and sugar. Pour this mixture into the cooled pastry crust, spreading it out into an even layer.

To create the rose design, carefully arrange mango slices on top of the tart in a circular pattern, slightly overlapping each slice to mimic rose petals. Continue until the entire surface of the tart is covered with the mango slices.

Bake the tart in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the mango is soft and slightly caramelized. Remove from the oven and allow to cool. Garnish with fresh rose petals for an elegant touch.

This Spiced Mango Rose Tart weighs approximately 800g after baking. It serves 8 people, with each serving weighing around 100g. An average serving of this tart contains approximately 250 calories.

Tip: For an extra burst of flavor, consider adding a sprinkle of chopped pistachios or a drizzle of honey on top of the tart before serving. This will add a delightful crunch and sweetness to complement the spiced mango.

I hope you enjoy making and indulging in this Spiced Mango Rose Tart. Get creative with your designs and ingredients, and let your culinary skills shine! Bon appétit!
