Decadent Desserts: Blackberry Basil Panna Cotta

Today, I’m excited to share a unique and luxurious dessert that combines the sweetness of blackberries with the herbaceous freshness of basil. This blackberry basil panna cotta is a perfect treat for a special occasion or a decadent ending to a meal.

Ingredients:

  • 200g fresh blackberries
  • 15g fresh basil leaves
  • 10g gelatin powder
  • 100g sugar
  • 300ml heavy cream

Kitchen Tools:

  • saucepan
  • fine mesh sieve
  • blender
  • ramekins

To start, heat the heavy cream and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved. In the meantime, prepare the gelatin according to the package instructions. Once the cream is warm, add the gelatin mixture, stirring until completely dissolved.

Remove the cream mixture from the heat and allow it to cool slightly. In a blender, combine the blackberries and basil leaves, blending until smooth. Pass the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove any seeds, then stir it into the cream mixture.

Divide the mixture among ramekins and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set.

Once the panna cotta is firm, run a knife around the edge of each ramekin and invert them onto serving plates. Serve chilled, garnished with fresh blackberries and basil leaves.

This blackberry basil panna cotta weighs approximately 600g in total and serves 4 people. Each serving is around 150g, with an estimated calorie count of 300 per serving.

For a unique twist, try infusing the cream with fresh basil leaves before adding the gelatin for an extra layer of basil flavor in your panna cotta.
