Savory Fusion Delight: Mexican-Japanese Sushi Rolls

Today, I am excited to share a unique fusion dish that combines the flavors of Mexico and Japan. This dish is perfect for a cozy evening at home or a gathering with friends. The blend of spicy and savory elements will surely tantalize your taste buds.

Ingredients:

  • sushi rice (200g)
  • avocado (1)
  • nori sheets (2)
  • pickled ginger (50g)
  • soy sauce (50ml)
  • sriracha sauce (15ml)
  • mango (1)
  • cucumber (1)
  • sesame seeds (10g)

Kitchen Tools:

  • rice cooker
  • sushi mat
  • sharp knife
  • cutting board

To start, cook the sushi rice according to the package instructions using the rice cooker. While the rice is cooking, thinly slice the avocado, mango, and cucumber. Lay out a sheet of nori on the sushi mat and spread a layer of rice evenly over it. Arrange the avocado, mango, cucumber, and pickled ginger on top of the rice.

Roll the sushi tightly using the sushi mat, making sure to press firmly to seal the roll. Slice the roll into bite-sized pieces and place on a serving platter. In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce and sriracha sauce to create a dipping sauce.

To add a Mexican twist, sprinkle sesame seeds over the sushi rolls for a nutty flavor and crunchy texture.

Tip:

For an extra kick of heat, drizzle some spicy mayo over the sushi rolls before serving.

This fusion dish weighs approximately 500 grams in total, serving 4 people with an average serving weight of 125 grams. Each serving is estimated to be around 300 calories.
