Today, I am excited to share with you a unique twist on a classic favorite: spicy chocolate chip cookies. This recipe combines the comforting sweetness of traditional chocolate chip cookies with a surprising kick of heat that will leave your taste buds wanting more.

For this recipe, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 150g unsalted butter
  • 200g granulated sugar
  • 100g brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 250g all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 200g chocolate chips

And here are the tools you will need:

  • mixing bowl
  • whisk
  • spatula
  • baking sheet
  • oven preheated to 350°F (180°C)

To start, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Add the egg and mix until well combined. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.

Using a cookie scoop, portion out the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

The approximate total weight of the cooked dish is 720g, with around 18 servings. Each serving weighs approximately 40g, with an estimated calorie count of 180 per cookie.

One clever tip for this recipe is to sprinkle some extra cayenne pepper on top of the cookies before baking for an extra burst of heat.
