Introducing: Lavender Lemon Panna Cotta

Today, I’m excited to share a unique and refreshing dessert recipe perfect for a sunny summer day. This Lavender Lemon Panna Cotta is a delightful combination of floral lavender notes and zesty lemon flavors, creating a creamy and decadent treat that is sure to impress.

Ingredients:

  • 400g heavy cream
  • 200g whole milk
  • 100g sugar
  • 10g gelatin
  • 2 tbsp dried culinary lavender
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • Juice of 1 lemon

Kitchen Tools:

  • saucepan
  • whisk
  • fine mesh strainer
  • ramekins
  • mixing bowl

To start, heat the heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, dried lavender, and lemon zest in a saucepan over medium heat. Allow the mixture to simmer for about 5 minutes to infuse the flavors. In the meantime, bloom the gelatin by sprinkling it over cold water in a small bowl.

Once the cream mixture is fragrant, remove it from the heat and strain out the lavender and lemon zest using a fine mesh strainer. Return the liquid to the saucepan and add the bloomed gelatin. Stir until the gelatin is completely dissolved. Finally, mix in the lemon juice for a bright, citrusy twist.

Divide the panna cotta mixture among ramekins and chill them in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or overnight, until set. When ready to serve, run a knife around the edges of each ramekin and invert the panna cotta onto a plate.

This Lavender Lemon Panna Cotta is a light and creamy dessert with a perfect balance of flavors. Each serving weighs approximately 150g and has about 300 calories. The total weight of the cooked dish is approximately 600g, with 4 servings in total.

Unique Tip:

For an extra layer of texture, try sprinkling a handful of toasted almonds or pistachios on top of the panna cotta before serving. The nuts add a delightful crunch that complements the smoothness of the dessert perfectly.

I hope you enjoy making this Lavender Lemon Panna Cotta as much as I did. Feel free to experiment with different herbs and citrus fruits to create your own unique variations. Happy cooking!
