Introducing Cinnamon Apple Pie Bars

Today, I’m excited to share with you a recipe that perfectly captures the cozy vibes of fall: Cinnamon Apple Pie Bars. These bars are a delightful twist on the classic apple pie, with a buttery crust and a sweet, spiced apple filling. They are perfect for enjoying with a cup of hot cider on a crisp autumn day.

Ingredients:

  • 150g butter, cold and cubed
  • 250g all-purpose flour
  • 100g sugar
  • 3 apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 egg

Kitchen Tools:

  • mixing bowl
  • baking dish
  • rolling pin
  • pastry cutter

To start, preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a baking dish. In a mixing bowl, combine the cold, cubed butter, flour, and sugar. Use a pastry cutter to cut the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Reserve 1 cup of this mixture for the topping.

Press the remaining mixture into the bottom of the greased baking dish to form the crust. Arrange the thinly sliced apples on top of the crust. Sprinkle the apples with cinnamon for a warm, spicy flavor. Crumble the reserved topping over the apples.

In a small bowl, whisk the egg and brush it over the topping to give the bars a lovely golden sheen when baked. Bake the bars in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.

Once baked, allow the bars to cool slightly before slicing them into squares. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a delicious treat.

These Cinnamon Apple Pie Bars weigh approximately 800g when cooked and yield around 12 servings. Each serving is about 67g, and you can expect each bar to have around 220 calories.

One unique tip for making these bars extra special is to sprinkle a handful of chopped pecans over the apple layer before adding the crumbled topping. The nuts add a wonderful crunch and nutty flavor that takes these bars to the next level.

I hope you give these Cinnamon Apple Pie Bars a try and enjoy them as much as I do. Feel free to get creative with the recipe and make it your own by adding your favorite spices or toppings. Happy baking!
