Today’s Unique Recipe: Spicy Apple Cider Chicken

Hey there, foodies! Today, I’m excited to share a special dish that’s perfect for cozy fall evenings or when you’re craving a little something different. This Spicy Apple Cider Chicken combines the warmth of apple cider with a kick of spice for a comforting and flavorful meal that will surely delight your taste buds.

Ingredients:

  • 4 chicken thighs (approx. 600g)
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 apple, sliced

Kitchen Tools:

  • skillet
  • tongs
  • knife
  • cutting board
  • measuring spoons

Start by heating olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Season the chicken thighs with chili powder, cinnamon, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Sear the chicken thighs in the skillet until they are golden brown on both sides, about 5 minutes per side. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and chopped onion. Sauté until the onion is soft and translucent, about 5 minutes. Pour in the apple cider and deglaze the skillet, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

Return the chicken thighs to the skillet and add the sliced apple on top. Cover the skillet and let the chicken cook in the apple cider mixture for about 20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened slightly.

Serve the Spicy Apple Cider Chicken hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired. The combination of sweet apple cider, spicy chili powder, and warm cinnamon creates a deliciously unique flavor profile that will keep you coming back for more.

Total weight of cooked dish: 800g
Number of servings: 4
Average weight of one serving: 200g
Approximate calorie count per serving: 300 calories

Pro tip: For an extra burst of flavor, try marinating the chicken in apple cider and spices for a few hours before cooking. This will infuse the meat with even more of that delicious autumn taste.

I hope you give this Spicy Apple Cider Chicken a try and enjoy it as much as I do. Feel free to get creative with the recipe and make it your own by adjusting the spice levels or adding your favorite seasonal vegetables. Happy cooking!
