Greetings, lovely foodies! Today, I am thrilled to share a special recipe that combines the sweet and spicy flavors that I absolutely adore. This Spicy Honey Seared Salmon is perfect for a cozy night in or a dinner party with friends. The combination of heat from the spices and the sweetness of the honey creates a symphony of flavors that will leave your taste buds begging for more.

For this recipe, you will need the following ingredients:

  • salmon fillets (approx. 600g)
  • honey (100g)
  • soy sauce (50ml)
  • sriracha sauce (1 tbsp)
  • garlic powder (1 tsp)
  • smoked paprika (1 tsp)
  • olive oil (2 tbsp)
  • salt and pepper to taste

Be sure to have the following kitchen tools on hand:

  • baking sheet
  • mixing bowl
  • whisk
  • frying pan

To start, preheat your oven to 200°C. In a mixing bowl, combine the honey, soy sauce, sriracha sauce, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Whisk everything together until well combined.

Place the salmon fillets on a baking sheet and pour the honey mixture over them, ensuring they are fully coated. Allow the salmon to marinate for about 15 minutes while you heat the olive oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.

Once the oil is hot, carefully place the salmon fillets in the pan, skin side down. Sear for 3-4 minutes until the skin is crispy, then flip the fillets and transfer the pan to the preheated oven.

Bake the salmon for another 5-7 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
