Delicious Chestnut and Bacon Stuffed Chicken Thighs

Today, I’m excited to share a unique recipe that combines the earthy flavors of chestnuts with the savory goodness of bacon in a delicious stuffed chicken thigh dish. This recipe is perfect for a cozy fall dinner or a special occasion when you want to impress your guests with something unexpected and tasty.

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs (600g)
  • 200g cooked chestnuts
  • 4 slices of bacon
  • 8 fresh sage leaves
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Kitchen Tools:

  • knife
  • cutting board
  • meat mallet
  • skillet
  • oven

To start, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lay the chicken thighs flat on a cutting board and gently pound them with a meat mallet to flatten them slightly. Season with salt and pepper on both sides.

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Then, add chopped chestnuts and bacon, and cook until bacon is crispy. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Place a spoonful of the chestnut and bacon mixture in the center of each chicken thigh. Top with a fresh sage leaf. Roll up the chicken thighs and secure with toothpicks.

Heat some olive oil in the skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the chicken thighs on all sides for about 2 minutes per side. Transfer the chicken to a baking dish and bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.

Once cooked, remove the toothpicks and slice the stuffed chicken thighs into rounds. Serve hot and enjoy the delicious combination of flavors in every bite.

The approximate total weight of the cooked dish is 900g, with 4 servings. Each serving is around 225g, with an estimated calorie count of 350 per serving.

One clever tip for this recipe is to sprinkle a little bit of maple syrup over the stuffed chicken thighs before baking for a touch of sweetness that perfectly complements the savory chestnut and bacon filling.

I hope you give this unique chestnut and bacon stuffed chicken thigh recipe a try and make it your own with your favorite herbs and spices. Enjoy!
