This unique recipe combines the earthy sweetness of pumpkin with the salty crunch of bacon, all tied together with warm spices for a truly unforgettable flavor experience.

Ingredients:

  • 250g pumpkin puree
  • 150g bacon strips
  • 300g penne pasta
  • 200ml heavy cream
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Kitchen Tools:

  • large pot
  • wooden spoon
  • colander

To start, cook the bacon strips in a skillet until crispy, then remove and set aside. In the same skillet, sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic in olive oil until fragrant. Add in the pumpkin puree, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and pepper, stirring to combine.

Meanwhile, cook the penne pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Drain the pasta in a colander, reserving a cup of pasta water.

Add the heavy cream to the pumpkin mixture, stirring until heated through. Toss in the cooked penne pasta, crumbled bacon, and a splash of pasta water to create a creamy sauce that coats the pasta beautifully.
