Today’s Recipe: Tangy Thai Tofu Stir Fry

Hey there, foodies! Today, I’m excited to share with you my Tangy Thai Tofu Stir Fry recipe. This dish is perfect for those days when you’re craving a burst of flavor and a touch of spice. It’s a great way to incorporate tofu into your meals in a delicious and satisfying way.

To start off, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • firm tofu (300g)
  • red bell pepper (1)
  • onion (1)
  • garlic (2 cloves)
  • ginger (1-inch piece)
  • green beans (100g)
  • lime (1)
  • soy sauce (2 tbsp)
  • rice vinegar (1 tbsp)
  • brown sugar (1 tbsp)
  • sesame oil (1 tbsp)
  • red chili flakes (1 tsp)
  • basil leaves (for garnish)

For this recipe, you’ll need the following kitchen tools:

  • knife
  • cutting board
  • wok
  • spatula

Start by pressing the tofu to remove excess water, then cut it into cubes. Dice the red bell pepper, onion, and green beans. Mince the garlic and ginger. In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, sesame oil, and red chili flakes to create the sauce.

Heat some oil in a wok over medium-high heat. Add the tofu cubes and stir fry until they are golden brown. Remove the tofu from the wok and set aside. In the same wok, add a bit more oil and sauté the garlic and ginger until fragrant.

Next, add the diced onion, red bell pepper, and green beans to the wok. Stir fry until the vegetables are tender-crisp. Add the tofu back to the wok, then pour the sauce over the tofu and vegetables. Stir everything together to coat well.

Squeeze the lime juice over the stir fry and give it a final toss. Remove from heat and garnish with fresh basil leaves. Serve the Tangy Thai Tofu Stir Fry hot over steamed rice or noodles.

This flavorful and zesty dish weighs approximately 800g in total and serves 4. Each serving is around 200g, with an estimated calorie count of 250 per serving.

A clever tip for this recipe is to add a handful of crushed peanuts on top for an extra crunch and nutty flavor. It elevates the dish and adds a nice textural contrast.

I hope you give this Tangy Thai Tofu Stir Fry a try soon. Feel free to customize it with your favorite veggies or add more spice if you like it hot. Enjoy exploring new flavors in the kitchen!
