Today’s Unique Recipe: Lemon Lavender Chicken

Welcome to my kitchen! Today, I’m excited to share a recipe that brings together the bright and zesty flavors of lemon with the delicate floral notes of lavender. This dish is perfect for a cozy winter evening or a springtime brunch. Let’s get cooking!

Ingredients:

  • 400g chicken breast
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 tbsp dried lavender
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 3 tbsp olive oil

Kitchen Tools:

  • knife
  • cutting board
  • garlic press
  • zester
  • oven-safe skillet
  • basting brush

Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). Then, season the chicken breast with salt, pepper, and a sprinkle of dried lavender. Set aside while you prepare the marinade.

In a small bowl, combine the juice of the lemon, honey, minced garlic, and olive oil. Mix well to form a smooth, fragrant marinade. Pour this mixture over the seasoned chicken breast, ensuring it is well coated. Allow the chicken to marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.

Heat an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add a drizzle of olive oil and sear the chicken breast for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.

Once seared, transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

While the chicken is baking, prepare a simple lemon-lavender glaze by combining the remaining lemon juice with a touch of honey and dried lavender in a saucepan over low heat. Let the mixture simmer until slightly thickened.

Once the chicken is cooked, generously brush the lemon-lavender glaze over the top of the chicken. Serve hot and enjoy the vibrant flavors of lemon and lavender coming together in this unique dish.
