That’s why I’m excited to share this unique recipe for a Spiced Pear and Thyme Galette with you today. The combination of sweet pears, warm spices, and earthy thyme creates a truly special dessert that is perfect for this time of year.

Ingredients:

  • puff pastry (200g)
  • pears, thinly sliced (400g)
  • brown sugar (50g)
  • ground cinnamon (1 tsp)
  • ground nutmeg (1/2 tsp)
  • fresh thyme leaves (1 tbsp)
  • lemon juice (1 tbsp)
  • egg, beaten (1)

Kitchen Tools:

  • rolling pin
  • baking sheet
  • pastry brush

To start, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the puff pastry into a circle on a lightly floured surface. In a bowl, mix together the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, thyme, and lemon juice. Spread this mixture evenly over the pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.

Arrange the sliced pears on top of the sugar mixture in a circular pattern, overlapping slightly. Fold the edges of the pastry over the pears, creating a rustic crust. Brush the crust with the beaten egg to help it brown in the oven.

Place the galette on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the pears are tender. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
