Today’s Unique Creation: Spicy Chocolate Tofu Stir-Fry

I’m excited to share a new dish that combines unexpected flavors and ingredients for a truly unique culinary experience. Today, I’ll be showing you how to make a Spicy Chocolate Tofu Stir-Fry, a delightful fusion of savory and sweet, with a kick of heat that will leave your taste buds tingling.

Ingredients:

  • 200g firm tofu, cubed
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 100g snow peas
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp chili flakes
  • 50g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • cooked rice for serving

Kitchen Tools:

  • wok
  • knife
  • cutting board
  • grater
  • spatula

To start, heat some oil in a wok over medium-high heat. Add the cubed tofu and cook until golden brown and crispy on all sides. Remove the tofu from the wok and set aside.

In the same wok, add a bit more oil and sauté the minced garlic, grated ginger, and chili flakes until fragrant. Add in the sliced onion, bell pepper, and snow peas, and stir-fry until the vegetables are slightly tender.

Next, add the cooked tofu back to the wok. Pour in the soy sauce, sesame oil, and brown sugar, stirring to combine all the ingredients. Let the sauce simmer and thicken slightly.

Once the sauce has thickened, add the chopped dark chocolate to the wok. Stir until the chocolate has melted and coated all the ingredients, creating a luscious and rich sauce.

Serve the Spicy Chocolate Tofu Stir-Fry hot over cooked rice, garnished with some sesame seeds for extra crunch.

The total weight of the cooked dish is approximately 800g, providing 4 servings with an average weight of 200g per serving. Each serving is estimated to be around 400 calories.

A clever tip for this dish is to let the tofu marinate in soy sauce and ginger for a few hours before cooking, enhancing its flavor and texture.

I hope you enjoy this unique twist on a classic stir-fry dish. Feel free to experiment with different vegetables or spices to make it your own!
