Today’s Unique Dessert Creation: Olive Oil Rosemary Cake

As the weather cools down and the aroma of fresh herbs fills the air, I find myself craving a unique and aromatic dessert to enjoy with a cup of tea. That’s why I decided to create a one-of-a-kind Olive Oil Rosemary Cake that combines the subtle sweetness of olive oil with the earthy notes of rosemary. This cake is perfect for a cozy evening in or a special gathering with friends.

Ingredients:

  • 250g all-purpose flour
  • 200g sugar
  • 150ml olive oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 150g plain yogurt
  • 2 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Kitchen Tools:

  • mixing bowl
  • whisk
  • spatula
  • loaf pan
  • oven

To start, preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a loaf pan. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, olive oil, eggs, and plain yogurt until smooth. Add in the flour, baking powder, salt, and chopped rosemary, and mix until just combined.

Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. The aroma of the rosemary will fill your kitchen, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Once the cake is baked, allow it to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice the cake and serve it on its own or with a dollop of whipped cream for a decadent touch.

Final Touches and Serving:

This Olive Oil Rosemary Cake weighs approximately 800g after baking and serves 8 people. Each serving is around 100g and has an estimated calorie count of 250 calories. For an extra burst of flavor, try serving the cake with a drizzle of honey or a sprinkle of sea salt on top.

One unusual tip for this recipe is to infuse the olive oil with rosemary sprigs overnight before using it in the cake batter. This will enhance the rosemary flavor and create a more aromatic and flavorful cake.

I hope you enjoy this unique dessert creation and feel inspired to get creative in the kitchen. Don’t be afraid to experiment with different herbs or oils to make this recipe your own. Happy baking!
