Introduction

Today, I’m sharing a unique dish that combines the richness of caramelized figs with the earthy flavors of black rice. This recipe is perfect for a cozy night in or a special gathering with loved ones. I can’t wait for you to try this delightful creation!

Ingredients

  • black rice (200g)
  • fresh figs (250g)
  • balsamic vinegar (30ml)
  • honey (15ml)
  • olive oil (20ml)
  • salt (to taste)
  • pepper (to taste)
  • walnuts (50g)

Kitchen Tools

  • baking sheet
  • knife
  • cutting board

Preparation

To start, cook the black rice according to the package instructions in a saucepan. While the rice is cooking, halve the figs and place them on a baking sheet. Drizzle them with balsamic vinegar, honey, and olive oil. Season with salt and pepper. Roast the figs in the oven at 180°C for 15-20 minutes until caramelized.

In the meantime, toast the walnuts in a dry pan until fragrant. Once the rice is cooked, fluff it with a fork and transfer it to a serving dish. Arrange the caramelized figs on top of the rice and sprinkle the toasted walnuts over the dish.

Tips

For an added touch of sweetness, you can drizzle a bit more honey over the dish before serving. The contrast of flavors will tantalize your taste buds!
