Today, I’m excited to share a recipe for a Spiced Pear Galette that is perfect for the cozy fall season. The warm spices combined with sweet pears create a delicious treat that is sure to impress your friends and family.

Ingredients:

  • puff pastry (250g)
  • ripe pears (3, thinly sliced)
  • brown sugar (50g)
  • cinnamon (1 tsp)
  • nutmeg (1/2 tsp)
  • vanilla extract (1 tsp)
  • cornstarch (1 tbsp)
  • egg (1, beaten for egg wash)

Kitchen Tools:

  • rolling pin
  • parchment paper
  • baking sheet
  • knife
  • pastry brush

Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the puff pastry on a sheet of parchment paper on a baking sheet. In a bowl, mix the sliced pears, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla extract, and cornstarch until well combined.

Arrange the pear mixture in the center of the puff pastry, leaving a border around the edges. Fold the edges of the puff pastry over the pears, creating a rustic galette shape. Brush the edges of the pastry with the beaten egg for a golden finish.

Bake the galette in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the pears are tender. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
