Introducing: Roasted Butternut Squash with Maple Sage Butter

As the fall season embraces us with its crisp air and cozy vibes, I can’t help but crave warm and comforting dishes that celebrate the flavors of autumn. Today, I am excited to share with you my recipe for Roasted Butternut Squash with Maple Sage Butter. This dish combines the natural sweetness of butternut squash with the rich flavors of maple and earthy sage, creating a delightful symphony of tastes that will surely warm your heart and soul.

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium butternut squash (approx. 800g), peeled, seeded, and cut into cubes
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons fresh sage leaves, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Kitchen Tools:

  • baking sheet
  • mixing bowl
  • pastry brush
  • oven

To start, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a mixing bowl, toss the butternut squash cubes with olive oil, salt, and pepper until evenly coated. Spread the squash out in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet and roast in the oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the squash is tender and caramelized.

While the squash is roasting, whisk together the melted butter, maple syrup, and chopped sage in a small bowl. Once the squash is done, drizzle the maple sage butter over the roasted butternut squash and gently toss to coat. Return the squash to the oven for an additional 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

Serve the Roasted Butternut Squash with Maple Sage Butter hot as a side dish or a light main course. The combination of sweet maple syrup, fragrant sage, and tender squash will surely delight your taste buds and warm your soul on a chilly autumn day.

This dish weighs approximately 1000g once cooked and serves 4 people. Each serving is around 250g and contains an estimated 200 calories. For an extra burst of flavor, try sprinkling some toasted pecans or crumbled feta cheese on top before serving.

I hope you enjoy making this Roasted Butternut Squash with Maple Sage Butter as much as I do. Feel free to experiment with different herbs and spices to make this dish your own. Happy cooking!
