Today’s Creation: Cherry Chocolate Explosion Pancakes

As the weather gets colder and the holiday season approaches, I always find comfort in indulging in warm, decadent breakfast dishes. Today, I’m excited to share a recipe that combines the rich flavors of chocolate and the sweetness of cherries in a delightful pancake dish that is perfect for a cozy weekend brunch at home.

Ingredients:

  • all-purpose flour (200g)
  • cocoa powder (30g)
  • baking powder (10g)
  • salt (5g)
  • sugar (30g)
  • milk (300ml)
  • eggs (2)
  • vanilla extract (10ml)
  • butter (50g, melted)
  • cherries (150g, pitted and chopped)
  • dark chocolate (100g, chopped)

Kitchen Tools:

  • mixing bowl
  • whisk
  • frying pan
  • spatula
  • ladle

To start, in a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, and sugar. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter. Slowly pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix the batter, as it may result in tough pancakes.

Next, gently fold in the chopped cherries and dark chocolate into the batter, ensuring they are evenly distributed. Heat a frying pan over medium heat and lightly grease it with butter. Using a ladle, pour a portion of the batter into the pan to form a pancake. Cook each pancake for 2-3 minutes on one side until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until cooked through.

Once all the pancakes are cooked, stack them on a plate and top with additional chopped cherries and a drizzle of melted dark chocolate for an extra indulgent touch. Serve warm and enjoy the burst of flavor in every bite.

The total weight of the cooked dish is approximately 900g, with four servings. Each serving weighs about 225g, with an estimated calorie count of 350 per serving.

One unique tip for this recipe is to slightly undercook the pancakes and let them rest overnight in the refrigerator. This will allow the flavors to meld together even more, resulting in an even richer and more decadent pancake experience the next day.

I hope you give these Cherry Chocolate Explosion Pancakes a try and enjoy them as much as I do. Feel free to experiment with different toppings or mix-ins to make this recipe your own. Happy cooking!
