The Ultimate Chocolate Chili

Today, I’m excited to share with you my latest creation: The Ultimate Chocolate Chili. This dish combines the warmth of a classic chili with a decadent twist of rich, dark chocolate. Perfect for cozy nights in or a gathering with friends, this unique recipe is sure to impress.

For this recipe, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • beef chuck (cubed) – 500g
  • dried black beans (soaked overnight) – 200g
  • onion (diced) – 1
  • bell pepper (chopped) – 1
  • canned tomatoes – 400g
  • beef broth – 500ml
  • dark chocolate (min. 70% cocoa) – 50g
  • chili powder – 2 tbsp
  • cumin – 1 tsp
  • smoked paprika – 1 tsp
  • salt and pepper – to taste

Make sure you have the following kitchen tools ready:

  • large pot
  • wooden spoon
  • chef’s knife
  • cutting board

Start by browning the beef chuck in a large pot over medium heat. Once browned, add in the diced onion and chopped bell pepper. Stir in the chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Pour in the soaked black beans, canned tomatoes, and beef broth. Let the chili simmer for about 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

After the chili has cooked down and thickened, add in the dark chocolate. Stir until the chocolate has melted and is well incorporated into the chili. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.

The total weight of the cooked dish is approximately 1500g, with enough for 6 servings. Each serving weighs around 250g, with an estimated calorie count of 350 per serving.

One clever tip for this recipe is to let the chili sit overnight in the fridge before serving. This allows the flavors to meld together even more, creating an even richer and more delicious dish.
